Baroness Floella Benjamin, OM, DBE DL.
Floella came to Britain from Trinidad in 1960, aged 10, as a Windrush child. An actress, singer, presenter, author, businesswoman, and politician. She became a household name through her appearances in the iconic children’s programmes Playschool and PlayAway. After 43 years she still appears on children’s television, her greatest love. She has links with children’s charities, was cultural ambassador for the 2012 Olympics and is a supporter of women’s rights. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the arrival of Empire Windrush she created a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Windrush Garden which won a gold medal and she is now also a Vice President of the RHS.
Chief Constable Catherine Roper
Catherine was appointed Chief Constable for Wiltshire
Police in February 2023.
She graduated from Cardiff University with an LLB in Law
and Politics, joined the Metropolitan Police Service in
2000, initially working in frontline policing in South London
before qualifying as a Detective. Her career has
spanned many areas of policing including specialist
crime, armed unit, custody, intelligence, protection,
professional standards and crime prevention.
