Hook and District WI have taken over the Royal Wootton Bassett Post Office’s window with a colourful display to promote their WI. RWB Post Office allows charities to advertise in their window for free, for a week.
The knitted teddies are ‘trauma teddies’ for the emergency services. The shield is Hook and District WI competition trophy and the table cloth is used as the base. The banner, at the back, is put outside the Hall for the week leading up to a meeting to advertise the fact that we meet in that Hall.
This is a wonderful example of how a WI can advertising the WI in empty shops. Why not check out your local village shops and see if there is an appropriate space to use to showcase your WI?!
