OTTERS – Coming to a River Near You
Wednesday 2nd March 2022
2.00pm – 4.00pm
Online Zoom presentation presented by Stephen Powles.
Formerly a vet, Stephen changed career to pursue his lifelong passion for wildlife, wildlife
photography and conservation.
This is a general otter talk covering (amongst other things) their design features, their behaviour, signs to look out for to know if otters are in the river. Their population crash and their subsequent recovery. At the end of this talk there is a short feature about Hammer Scar, a female otter that became very used to Stephen and with whom he made four TV appearances, and whose life he was able to observe, photograph and film in remarkable detail over a five-year period (which included five litters of cubs).
