Wiltshire Council is supporting the national Restart a Heart initiative on Thursday 16 October 2025, offering free CPR training sessions at leisure centres across the county. This aligns with the recent WI resolution “Bystanders can be Lifesavers”, aiming to empower the public with life-saving skills.

What’s Happening:

  • Free CPR demonstrations and hands-on sessions

  • Learn basic CPR and defibrillator use

Where You Can Take Part:

Training will be available at the following Wiltshire leisure centres:

  • Calne Community Campus

  • The Vale Community Campus, Pewsey

  • Marlborough Leisure Centre

  • Leighton Recreation Centre, Westbury

  • Tidworth Leisure Centre

  • Olympiad Leisure Centre, Chippenham

  • Five Rivers Health and Wellbeing Centre, Salisbury

  • Bradford on Avon Swimming Pool (activities on Wednesday 15 October) [wiltshire.gov.uk]

Why It Matters:

Each year, around 30,000 people in the UK suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, but only 1 in 10 survive. Early CPR can double or triple survival chances.
