Ellendune WI Walking Group

The Walking group from the Ellendune WI meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the Ellendune Centre in Wroughton. This is the group on our June walk at Coate Water in Swindon which is a great venue because there is a short loop and a long loop and the surface is wheel-chair friendly. That’s lucky because our photographer uses a wheeled walker. He also happens to be the husband of one of our committee members … we are a very inclusive WI!

Each month we walk somewhere different and if that is not in Wroughton we will car-share to the start / finish point. We try to choose locations that allow for different walk lengths to suit the varied preferences of the group. In July we are going to Stanton Park at Stanton Fitzwarren. There is usually just a handful of us and we always end with a tea or coffee somewhere and sometimes there is even cake! Wiltshire has so many beautiful places to get out and about and when you’re chatting away to friends you barely notice that you’re getting a good work out! Aren’t we lucky?
